How long do they last?

With proper prep — clean, dry, oil-free nails — most customers get 7–14 days of wear. Longevity depends on your lifestyle. If you swim daily or have your hands in water a lot, you might get closer to 7 days. If you prep carefully and avoid prolonged water exposure, 12–14 days is achievable. The prep pad in your kit is there for a reason — don't skip it.

Will they pop off?

The most common reason press-ons pop off is an incorrect size or poor prep. If the nail is too wide, it'll catch on things and lift from the sides. If your nail had any oil or moisture on it when you applied, the tab won't bond properly. Follow the prep steps, size carefully, and press firmly for 30 seconds — and popping off becomes very rare.

Can I shower and wash my hands with them on?

Yes — everyday hand washing and showering is completely fine. Avoid keeping your hands submerged for extended periods (long baths, swimming pools, spa baths). If you're planning a beach day or pool day, applying a fresh adhesive tab that morning will significantly extend the wear.

What are Sistaco nails made of?

Sistaco Press-Ons are made from bio-sourced, plant-derived polymer material — not the petroleum-based ABS plastic used in most press-ons. They're formulated without HEMA, MMA, formaldehyde, or other harsh chemicals common in the nail industry. Unlike traditional plastic press-on nails, they are biodegradable.

Are they safe for sensitive nails?

Yes. Because there's no chemical bonding to the natural nail — just a physical adhesive tab — there's no risk of the allergic reactions sometimes associated with gel or acrylic systems. If you have known sensitivities to adhesives, test on one nail first and wait 24 hours before applying a full set.

What's the difference between Sistaco Press-Ons and the Mineral Bond system?

Great question — and worth knowing. The Mineral Bond Nail Powder is a done-in-minutes nail powder that bonds chemically to your natural nail. It lasts 3–4 weeks and requires a starter kit. It's more permanent and more of a commitment. The Press-Ons are instant, zero-skill, and zero-commitment — perfect for events, travel, or when you want to change your nail look every week without any fuss.

How should I store my Sustainable Nails?

How do I find my size?

Every set includes 15 sizes (0–14). Use our dedicated size guide — it walks you through measuring your nail width with a ruler or tape measure and matching it to the corresponding size. If you're between sizes, always go smaller. A snug fit that sits edge-to-edge looks more natural and holds better than one that's a little wide.

What if the nail is too long?

Every set comes with a mini nail file. You can shorten and reshape any nail to your preference. File in one direction, don't saw. Start conservatively — you can always take more off, but you can't add it back.

Do I need any other products to apply them?

No. Everything you need is in the box — prep pad, adhesive tabs, nail file, wooden stick. You don't need glue, a UV lamp, or any other tools. If you want extra hold, you can use a small amount of nail glue instead of the adhesive tab on stubborn nails, but it isn't necessary and will prevent reuse of that nail.

How do I remove them without damaging my nails?

Apply a small amount of cuticle oil or a dedicated removal oil around the edges and base of the nail. Wait 20–30 seconds. Then gently work from the sides using the wooden stick or your thumbnail. The nail will release cleanly. Never force it — if there's resistance, add more oil and wait. This process should take under 2 minutes for all 10 fingers.

Can I really reuse them?

Yes — genuinely. After removal, peel the used adhesive tab off the back of the press-on. Store the nails in the original tray. When you want to wear them again, apply fresh adhesive tabs (sold separately as 'Replacement Adhesive Tabs' on our website). With careful removal and storage, most customers get 5–8 full wears from a single set.
